Faith Formation

Dear Parents, [Grandparents, Aunts/Uncles, Godparents, etc.]

I am excited to be able to give each young student a copy of a Picture the Bible coloring book. Jesus said "Come and Follow Me!"

My goal is to provide a brief explanation on a children's level of each picture and scripture passage in the coloring book about every week or so.

An example page from the coloring book is available by clicking HERE.

And my brief message for that page is available by clicking HERE.

I looking forward to creating these messages and sharing them with your children. If you would like a coloring book sent to your child, grandchild, godchild, etc. and to be sent links to the video clips as they become available, please email Diane at

God bless all you do for your children!

Rev. Gerald P. Harris

Thank you for your interest in our Faith Formation programs!

Grades K-6 will participate in a family faith formation program, based on the "A Family of Faith" curriculum from the Sophia Institute. This program seeks to support and nurture strong Catholic families by encouraging and equipping parents share their own faith with their children.

Classes will be held twice each month, starting in October and running through April. An extensive Parent Guide book will help parents lead students through engaging at-home activities during the weeks that they do not have classes.  Families can choose to participate in class sessions that meet:

  • Saturdays, 9:00-10:00 a.m.  (1st & 3rd week of each month)
  • Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. (1st & 3rd week of each month)
  • Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. (2nd & 4th week of each month)

These group sessions will begin virtually, via Zoom, and transition to in-person meetings when that is deemed safe.

This program also seeks to build Christian community by connecting families with other families within the program. Families will be assigned to a cohort, which is a small group of 3-4 other families which they will do activities with throughout the year. This ongoing association allows families to build trust and relationships.

To join a Bible Study, a Discipleship Group, to help with Faith Formation on Wednesdays, or to serve on the next Confirmation Retreat Team, contact Tessa Schuermann.

Every year God calls together an amazing team of catechists to lead our children and youth in Faith Formation classes!

If you are feeling called to serve as a small group leader for grade 10-11 Confirmation, a leader or classroom aide for grades 7-8, or a Discipleship Group Leader for grade 9, please contact Tessa.

Here is what some of our catechists are saying:

"I became a catechist because I felt a tugging at my heart even when I thought I didn’t want to be one and thought I wasn’t qualified. It is a true joy to be a part of the youth’s faith journey, especially when you witness one of their ‘aha’ moments. My faith has grown a lot as well."                                  ~Alisa Raehsler

"It is an extraordinary honor to have been able to mentor a group of St. B's 10th graders through a year of their Confirmation formation. I didn't think I'd be able to do this for two years in a row, but my beautiful students really wanted me to journey with them for their second year of study/prayer. How could I resist? They're an inspiration with all of their many graces of youth while each pondering life itself and why God put us here. Guess who got the most out of this relationship? You got it! Me."                            ~Marius Andahazy

"For two years, I had the opportunity to serve in a Catechist role as a small group leader for Confirmation. I love seeing the 10th and 11th graders grow in their faith throughout their two-year journey. I have learned so much from them and their perspectives as they make their faith journey toward getting confirmed. I leave each Wednesday night feeling renewed in my own convictions. These young adults inspire me as I journey on the path that God has laid out for me."                                          ~Gretchen Stoffel
