SCRIP Program

Scrip is Fundraising While you Shop.  All parishioners can raise money for our church while doing their everyday shopping.  It's easy to participate, just order gift cards from America's favorite retailers and local vendors and use them in place of cash, checks and credit cards for purchases you were going to make anyway. Each card carries an associated "contribution" of 2-15% or more.

Our Scrip program has been in operation since 1994.  Scrip helps our parish raise money to purchase items and fund projects for our church that are not included in the operating budget. 

How do I participate in the Scrip program?

1. Fill out a family sign-up sheet.
This sheet tells us who you are and where you would like 50% of your Scrip proceeds to go. The other 50% is used for church goals.
 
2. Fill out an order form.
Orders forms are also available in the school and church offices as well as at the Scrip table on the weekends.
 
Groceries, gas, clothing, music, books, restaurants, home improvement; almost anywhere you spend money, you can exchange your cash/check for a Scrip card/certificate. Scrip cards/certificates make wonderful gifts and save you the time of driving from store to store. Each store lists the percentage it gives back to our organization on the order form.
 
3. Pick up Scrip cards/certificates.
You have three options.
a.       Leave your order form and payment at school with the secretary or your student’s teacher by 9:00am. Your order will be available for pick-up at the school office the following morning that school is in session. (Note: most but not all Scrip is on hand, some must be ordered)
b.       The church office sells Scrip, Monday-Friday 2:45-3:15pm when school is in session & 1:30-4:15 on Tuesday & Thursday during the summer months.
c.        Scrip is available before and after all weekend Masses in the Fellowship Hall.
 
4. Use Scrip  EVERYDAY and support our parish at no cost to you.
Scrip is available for over 300 national and local retailers. Scrip is used in the same manner as a gift card/certificate. If you don’t spend the entire amount, you will have a balance. You may also use Scrip when shopping online.
 
Last year our Scrip program raised over $38,000.  Thank you for your continued participation!

Credit Card Policy
The acceptance of credit and debit cards is on a trial basis at this time.  MasterCard, Visa and Discover as well as checking debit cards will be accepted.  We will monitor our sales for 6 months, if we do not have a sizable increase in sales and profit, the program will be discontinued.
The goal of the program is to capture those sales that would be lost if we did not accept credit cards.
We have to pay 2% of each sale to the credit card processing company.  Because of this:
  • We ask that the majority of your purchase gives a return of at least 3% so we cover these costs and make a profit. If the majority of your order is not 3% or higher, we may ask you to add to or change your order. This should not be a problem since most of our scrip vendors give more than 3%.
  • Your purchase will be happily accepted no matter what type of payment you use.  It is our hope that when you are able, you will make your purchases with cash or check, so we don’t incur these expenses. This new program is geared toward those customers that will only make a Scrip purchase with a credit or debit card or those that have forgotten to bring another form of payment. 
Our goal is to earn money for our parish while providing a welcome service to our customers, not make money for financial institutions.
