The Resurrection Choir was developed out of a desire and a need to honor those who have died with a celebration that genuinely expresses the beauty and joy of our faith.  By participating in the music of the funeral liturgy as choir members, we are answering the church's call to bring support and strength to those who suffer the loss of a loved one.  Without music, themes of hope and resurrection are very difficult to express.  Music has the power to console and uplift the mourners in a way that words alone cannot.  The presence of a large group of singers at an otherwise small funeral speaks loudly of our parish's love and concern for one another.  We represent the parish in a direct way. 

Besides good fellowship, we take opportunities for breathing exercises, vocalizing and enunciation in an effort toward continual improvement.  We also welcome any one who can play an instrument.

Time Commitment

The Resurrection Choir sings for most funerals at St. Bridget Church.  Funerals are usually held at 10:30 AM.  A baby-sitter is provided if needed. 

The group also sings for 2 communal Penance services, the Mass of Remembrance, Ash Wed., and the Easter Vigil.

Meetings

Practice is every Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM except during the summer months.
