"Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the action that we do." - Mother Teresa
Sunday Preschool will be held in the Upper Room during the 9:30 Mass from mid-September through mid-April. Ages three, four and five are welcome to attend. Teachers will use the Seeds program (Pflaum Publishing) and various crafts to teach the youth about God’s love for us.
Please register using the standard FF registration form, which is available in the information center at the east entrance or print one from the link to the right and return it. If you have any questions or would like to help teach or assist in the preschool, please contact Diane.
Thank you for your interest in our Faith Formation programs!
Grades K-5 will meet in the Church from 6:30-7:30 p.m. each Wednesday from mid-September through Mid-April. A parent or guardian is expected to participate in each class with the student, as this class is designed to help you share your faith with them. Each class will spend some time exploring the weekly Gospel message, the Mass/Liturgical Seasons/Feasts, and a theme: Creation; God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; Morality (Ten Commandments); Sacraments; Kingdom/Social Justice.
We hope that the programs offered will help you share our beautiful faith with your children! If you have any questions that this website does not answer, please call Diane Wengelski at 425-1879 ext 105 or send an email.
Faith Formation Options
Enroll in our parish school, where faith formation is integrated into the daily curriculum.
Attend Wednesday evening FF classes at the church.
Use RCL’s Faith First books to assist you in an “at-home” program. We provide the books upon registration.
K-5 ‘At Home’ Books are available for families that prefer to study their faith at home. (You can use the book exclusively, or for weeks that you do not attend the Wednesday night class.) If you would like a book for your K-5 student, please circle ‘Yes’ in the ‘At-Home Book Needed?’ column of the Faith Formation Registration form.
Do a combination of any of the above options.
First Reconciliation / First Communion preparation is open to anyone in the 2nd grade or beyond. We will prepare for First Reconciliation in the fall and for First Communion in the spring. (Note: If your child is preparing for a sacrament, you do not need to also attend the Wednesday evening Faith Formation classes. You are very welcome to, but it is not required.)
Is your child ready for First Reconciliation or First Communion? Go to the Sacraments pages to learn more!
This Formation year has a lot in store for our Middle School students! New students are welcome to join anytime throughout the year!
There are two sessions for students in grades 6-8 to choose from. Students are allowed to switch between sessions but are encouraged to be as consistent as possible.

Meet in the Upper Room for snacks, games, faith discussion and Scripture study!
Evening Session 6:30-7:30 p.m.:
Grade 6 will meet in the Garden View Room for games, discussion, and to learn about the Old Testament and basics of our faith.
Grade 7 will meet in the West View Room and will study Theology of the Body for Teens: Middle School Edition. Teens today face many pressures and challenges while searching for their own identity. This class will help them become integrated, loving, healthy young people who know that they were created by God for love!
Grade 8 will meet in the Knights of Columbus Room and will study Liturgy, Sacraments, and the History of our Church. Class will consist of discussion, activities, scripture and prayer to further open the hearts and minds of the teens as they grow closer to God.
Grade 9: Theology of the Body for Teens: High School Edition, this Faith Formation year in the Upper Room. The teens in this class will be given the opportunity to learn and discuss why they were created, and for what purpose. They will be challenged and encouraged to integrate their growing faith, values, and beliefs into their everyday life.
Grade 10 Confirmation: Welcome to Confirmation I Preparation! Throughout this year our 10th grade class will meet in Pat Lubich Hall and study from the "Chosen" Confirmation study program. Our classes will incorporate games, prayer, large group teaching, small group discussion, Scripture study, and group activities. Confirmation prep will also involve service work, choosing a sponsor, attending a retreat, and choosing a Confirmation name. Contact Tessa with questions.
Grade 11 Confirmation: Confirmation II Preparation is going to be an exciting year of study and expedition! A majority of the year, the Confirmation II students will join the Confirmation I students in Pat Lubich Hall on Wednesday nights to study from the "Chosen" Confirmation study program. At times throughout the year they will also have the opportunity to go out in our community to experience aspects of our faith first-hand. Confirmation II prep will also involve service work, a Sponsor and Candidate session, and writing a letter of intent to our bishop. Contact Tessa with questions.
Grade 12: As a confirmed and full member of the church, we invite you to share your gifts and talents! There are so many ways to do that, we can't list them all. Below are just a few...contact Tessa to find out more!

The fee for FF is $60 for the first child, plus $10 for each additional child. (With a family maximum of $80.)
This is a “flat fee” and covers whatever options you feel will help you share your faith with your children. (There is not an additional fee for sacrament preparation, or for doing both the At-Home program and the classes, etc.)
However, we understand that times are difficult for many people, and we do not want a financial burden to prevent participation. If this fee creates a hardship for your family, please call Diane Wengelski at 425-1879 ext 105 or send an email. All information is kept confidential.
You are always welcome to register for our faith formation classes. Please contact Tessa Schuermann at 425-1879 ext 107 or send an email to register.
