Cantors are a very important part of the music program. Just as the lector and presider share a dialogue with the congregation in the liturgy, the cantor, by way of psalm and song shares a musical dialogue with the presider and the congregation. The cantor enables the congregation to participate in song by leading them in singing and by teaching them new music. The cantor, as Psalmist, is a partner with the lector in the proclamation of the word.
Joining the Group
The requirement to join this group is that you must be a member of the parish that loves to sing.
Time Commitment
Depending on the number of members, you will cantor about once a month. If you are unable to make your scheduled time, it is your responsibility to use the member list below to find a substitute.
